As a child I often sat looking at huge vistas, daydreaming as I beheld the sky and water.
At other times I’d sit in a field and spend forever examining every detail of one flower.
Or I’d lie in the sand, scoop a few grains into my hand and peer at each miniature boulder about one inch from my face.
Whether far away or up close, beholding the beautiful patterns of nature transforms and betters our brains. I think we are taught too soon to rush off and neglect this kind of reflection.
I found an amazing universe in these childhood glimpses of the outdoors — and it stirred awe in my soul that has kept me young all these years.
I’d encourage you to make time to notice not only little nuances in big scenes, but also vast wonders as you zoom in for a closer view of tiny things.
